The effect

The Effect began with a question: what if survival is not escape, but selection? We assume near-death experiences are moments we survive. This story explores the possibility that we simply continue along the version where we do, while other outcomes, and the people within them, fall away. Through shared false memories, The Effect examines how reality fractures when continuity is no longer universal. Some people remember differently not because they are wrong, but because they have continued from somewhere else.
