As humanity evacuates a dying Earth through a supposedly fair lottery, Ruth Delgado waits with her two children outside the launch complex, clinging to the hope that chance will save them. When their number is not called and order collapses into chaos, Ruth makes a final desperate attempt to reach the departing ships.
